National Grandparents Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day, which is September 9th this year! As a child, I always looked forward to “Grandparents and Special Friends Day” at school. Having a special day each year when my grandparents could come spend time with me at my elementary school was a highlight. Looking back, I realize what a creative and fun way that was to get families involved and honor each child’s family and heritage.
