Senior Helpers Announces Senior Tsunami Survivor Relief Effort

Leading in-home care company launches campaign to raise money for Japanese seniors affected by tsunami

The impact of the recent tsunami that devastated coastal communities across Japan is still being felt around the world. The elderly populations in these Japanese communities have been particularly hard hit as basic needs, medicine and clean medical supplies are in short supply and very high demand.

Senior Helpers, a leading local senior care company, has launched an effort to help Japanese seniors in need through a new initiative – “Seniors for Senior Tsunami Survivors.”

“The stories coming out of Japan are heart breaking,” said CEO Peter Ross. “There are thousands of elderly Japanese citizens who have lost everything, and we want to support the efforts going on over there specifically aimed at helping Japanese seniors. We are urging all of our business partners, clients and families to help us offer some much-needed assistance and support after this unprecedented tragedy.”

To get involved, simply go to Senior Helpers’ designated “Seniors for Senior Tsunami Survivors” drop box. All collected donations will go directly to the Red Cross, which has agreed to earmark all of Senior Helpers’ contributions to directly support efforts aiding the Japanese elderly affected by the tsunami.

“This is a terrible situation, but even a small donation really can make a big difference in helping these seniors get back on their feet and on with their lives,” Ross said.

This is a great story about local seniors and senior care professionals uniting together to help their Japanese counterparts during a time of desperate need. We can provide interviews with the creators of the Seniors for Senior Tsunami Survivors idea and local seniors donating to help the cause.
